Audiobook Meter

Shows whether a chapter meets the ACX requirements: true peak, RMS and noise floor on analog needle meters, with a PASS/FAIL status. Audio is passed through unchanged. Usually you want to insert this plugin in the FX chain of your master track to check that levels are correct.

Audiobook Leveler

Brings narration into the ACX range: tames the loudest passages, lifts the quiet ones and raises the level towards -21 dB RMS. A brickwall limiter keeps the true peak at -3 dBTP. Thresholds and gain follow the voice automatically; all compressor values can be edited and saved. Insert it in the FX chain of the track that contains the narration.

Installation with ReaPack (recommended)

1. Install ReaPack if you don't have it yet.

2. In REAPER: Extensions > ReaPack > Import repositories...

3. Paste the repository URL and click OK:

   https://vcs.node01.de/rhaen/reaper-plugins/raw/branch/main/index.xml
   

4. Extensions > ReaPack > Browse packages..., filter by the repository rhaen, right-click the plugins you want > Install, then Apply.

5. The plugins appear in the FX browser as JS: .

Updates arrive with Extensions > ReaPack > Synchronize packages. Each plugin is versioned on its own; only changed plugins are updated.

Manual installation

1. In REAPER: Options > Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder.
2. Copy the .jsfx file of the plugin (e.g. Metering/Audiobook Meter.jsfx) into the Effects folder.
3. Open the FX browser and press F5 (or restart REAPER).
